Israel: Hovi Star

Israel Hovi Star

Like string instruments and groups, the ballad is on the decline at Eurovision. For the sake of variety, and because it’s not so bad after all, I hope Israel makes its way to the final and up the ranks. It’s a sensitive, dream-like tune that may well see Israel do just as well as last year, when Golden Boy finished in ninth place.

UPDATE: Hovi Star made headlines in April following a reportedly homophobic incident with passport control at Moscow airport.

Hello Europe, it’s Camilla calling! Here are the points from the House of Apcar vote.

Israel: 4 points

According to my own personal preference, I have awarded points to all 43 acts entering this year’s contest using the EBU’s scoring system (12, 10 and 8-1 points).
