Bulgaria: Poli Genova

Bulgari Poli Genova

If Love Was A Crime is perhaps the one song this year that would make it into mainstream charts in one minute flat. Bulgaria has qualified for the final just once in the nine years it has competed in the contest so far – including Poli herself in 2011 with a rather rockier entry. I’ve had her 2016 attempt on repeat for weeks, and look forward to seeing some slick choreography, jazzy lighting, and with any luck, Poli not getting too carried away with the idea that the crowd are already in the palm of her hand – a trap that all too many acts fall straight into after weeks of performing to Eurovision diehards at smaller concerts in the run-up to the final.

Hello Europe, it’s Camilla calling! Here are the points from the House of Apcar vote.

Bulgaria: 12 points

According to my own personal preference, I have awarded points to all 43 acts entering this year’s contest using the EBU’s scoring system (12, 10 and 8-1 points).
