Estonia: Tanja

Estonia Tanja

Last night Tanja beat nine other hopefuls – whose similarly original song titles included Search, Resignal, Supernoova, and Für Elise – in the Estonian national selection with 53 per cent of the televote going to Amazing, a pop-song (of sorts) that we’ll next hear in the first semi-final. Spoiler alert: there’s acrobatics.

Any puns crediting Tanja with being ‘amazing’ are clearly as desperate as Estonia to make it past the semi-finals. You can sort of see why 53 per cent of voters picked Tanja, in that she’s the polar opposite of last year’s Birgit, but the 30-year old will hopefully be stopped in her head-aching tracks before the final. What is amazing, in fact, is how much she has ‘borrowed’ from 2012’s winner, Loreen: dance moves, that fringe…perhaps she’ll make it to the Estonian Olympic gymnastics team for 2016. That I would watch.

Contagious rating: 0/10

Amazing

Remember how we used to be
Floating the skies, it fell so heavenly
We were weightless
We froze to ice and melted down
We chased the stars and fell to the ground
Couldn’t care less

This feeling inside
You’re all that I have, I need you back
Do you hear me screaming?

Stay amazing lie (do you hear me screaming?)
I don’t, don’t want another to make me high
I want, want you to be amazing lie
Stay amazing lie

You know there’s nothing I wouldn’t do
I’d brake the curse of time to be with you
I’d be fearless
I’d jump as far as I can see
And beat the perfect storm in the endless sea

This feeling inside
You’re all that I have, I need you back
Do you hear me screaming?

Stay amazing lie (do you hear me screaming?)
I don’t, don’t want another to make me high
I want, want you to be amazing lie
Stay amazing lie

This feeling inside
You’re all that I have, I need you back
We were weightless

Stay amazing lie (do you hear me screaming?)
I don’t, don’t want another to make me high
I want, want you to be amazing lie
Stay amazing lie
